One of the biggest things about 2020 is that it is coming to a close soon at least. While this year YouTube opted not to release a YouTube Rewind video, Google continued the trend and posted its annual results video 'Year in Search' along with the top search words in 2020.

In India, the top trending search words this year were Coronavirus and the Indian Premier League, according to Google. The US elections, along with the Bihar and Delhi elections, have also managed to have an impact. Food shelters, COVID research, and crackers were the top three 'close me' searches in 2020.

Many of India's curious minds were keen to learn what Coronavirus, Binod, and plasma therapy are. Meanwhile this year's top 3 'How to' questions were How to make paneer (well the lockout turned all of us into chefs), raise immunity, and make coffee from Dalgona.

Dil Bechara (RIP Sushant Singh Rajput), Soorarai Pottru, and Tanhaji were the ones who managed to impress Indians the most when coming to cinema. Similarly, Money Heist, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Novel, and Bigg Boss 14 were trendy TV/web series in the region.

Alongside coronavirus and the US Presidential election, the Indian Premier League (IPL) emerged as the top news case. The Indian Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and English Premier League dominate the rankings as far as sporting activities are concerned.
