On Tuesday, the instant messaging service said it will now allow users to set custom wallpapers for various chats in an offer to make it easier for users to better differentiate the dozens or hundreds of chats they are communicating with at the same time. It said that there is no limit to how many custom wallpapers a person would select to add to various chats.
Use a personalised wallpaper for your most relevant chats and favourite people to make your chats personal and distinguishable, and you never need to think about sending the wrong message in the wrong chat again," said the Facebook-owned service."
WhatsApp, used by more than 2 billion people, also rolls out doodle wallpaper, already the default wallpaper, in more colours, and extends the range of wallpapers with more pictures of nature and design from around the world, it added. In addition, users can now set a different wallpaper that activates when transitioning from light to dark mode on their screen.
The messaging app, moving away from wallpapers, said it still allows it easy for users to easily scan and locate text or emoji stickers or navigate via popular categories.
The business encouraged sticker makers to tag their stickers with emojis and text in order to make it easy for WhatsApp users to scan for their stickers. A company spokesman refused to share on WhatsApp the sort of traction stickers they have got, or how many sticker makers have contributed.
But if stickers are something you love today you can spot some extra ones. The "Together at Home" sticker pack from the World Health Organisation is now available as animated stickers.
Together at Home was one of WhatsApp's most famous sticker sets, and in its animated version, it can now be much more expressive and useful. Within WhatsApp, the 'Together at Home' sticker pack is available with text located in 9 languages, including Arabic, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish, WhatsApp said.
