Your smartphones and electric bikes will charge these smart benches of the future - Tech Backbone

 

What the future really holds for us, we do not know. One thing I am almost) confident of however, is that all of our everyday goods will inevitably become "intelligent." We have seen various technological devices like clocks, vacuum cleaners, and refrigerators becoming smart over the past couple of decades. A company has now designed smart benches that can wirelessly charge your smartphone and even charge your e-bikes or scooters.

Include, a Croatia-based start-up, is a company that develops smart benches and smart waste bins. The organisation has previously launched a smart bench dubbed 'Steora.' Now, three new Steora models have recently been unveiled—Steora Classic, Steora City, and Steora Cyclo.

Classic Steora

The Steora CLassic is now a regular-looking bench, but inside it packs a lot of technology. To charge your smartphones and headphones wirelessly, it comes with two Qi-supported wireless charging zones.

In addition to this the Classic also features seat-cooling technology, sensors to monitor environmental temperature, humidity, and friction, and ambient aesthetic LED lights. And both of these components are powered by integrated solar panels, but using the power lines of the area, the smart bench can still work.

 The Steora City is a more sophisticated version of the Classic and in addition to the above, packs more technology. So, apart from all the above features, along with an optional AI camera, the Steora City packs an LCD display that can capture the world around it and track people in the town. The company claims that none of the videos are processed. So, as per the business, this bench does not murder the privacy of people.

Cyclo Steora

Finally, since it acts as a full service station for electric bikes and scooters, the Steora Cyclo is the most advanced variant on this series. For e-bike riders, this one is especially designed as it packs the requisite charging plugs and juice-up power for an electric bike or electric scooter. To service your e-bike, it also includes an air compressor and additional hand tools.

So these are the three smart benches just introduced by Include. According to the company, all of them work on a custom cloud-based operating system called Solos. This helps users to view the data gathered by the benches and remotely monitor some of the benches' features.
