Stop me if you've already seen this one. The new Samsung flagship is set to debut on 14 January. The organisation has just reported previous speculation about the date of its next Unpacked case (virtually, of course). The name of this one is, "Welcome to the Everyday Epic."

"Mobile technology has taken centre stage in daily life over the past year, as individuals work remotely and spend more time at home," the organisation writes. "The rapid transition to a mobile-first world brings with it the need for equipment that can turn everyday life into a unique experience."

The scheduling of the case is a curious artefact of the wacky exhibition planning of 2021, with the COVID-19 pandemic already very much at the forefront. Generally, previous unpackeds is planned around the Mobile World Congress. However, in anticipation of returning to an in-person series, the show has been postponed until the summer. So, a month or so earlier this year, Samsung decided to kickstart sales.

The occurrence is, in fact, just days after CES. Gone are the days when a gadget reporter would take a few days to decompress after the year's biggest hardware display. It could also not bode well for Samsung's announcements during CES itself, maybe (though the electronics giant has more than enough divisions to keep its presence at the show interesting).

The fact that you may already reserve the S21, sight unseen, is another strange modification this year. There is little doubt that it will be a decent handset, but in the age of flagging mobile revenues, there are lots of concerns about how the business will up the ante. So far, the leaks have been kind of underwhelming, but Samsung normally has a few nice surprises up its sleeve.

We've seen enough of the Galaxy Buds Pro already that they don't even count as a surprise. But for earbuds, the brand has a good enough track record that there's reason to be optimistic. It is said that the AirPods Pro rivals are rated at a fair $199.
