We have seen multiple end-to-end chat applications such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and more ever since text messaging on smartphones became a thing. There are several distinguishing features of these applications, but the basic purpose of sending a text to your friends remains the same. However, with the launch of a unique feature, a new messaging app on the market aims to change the conventional way of communicating via text messages.

This fun messaging app, called "Honk", was recently launched. As there is no submit button in the app, the app functions entirely differently from conventional messaging applications. So, how do you give your mate a text message when there's not even a send button?

Well, you don't give a message to your mates in Honk, but they can see it later on. Instead, you enter a chat with them and type in your chat bubble with your texts. Now, your friend will be able to see the message being typed in real-time as you type your message into the conversation. As a consequence, instead of a long-drawn one, like in most chat applications, you get to have a real-time talk with your friends.

Similarly, with all the typos and mispelled words, as your buddy types his or her post, you will be able to see their message in real time. And you can press the double-arrow refresh button that sits in place of the send button when you're finished typing the whole message to clear your bubble for a new message. To express your message at a time, you get 160 letters.

This purpose is called "Live Typing" and, according to the developers, helps you and your friends to live in the moment and chat for a better conversational experience in real time.

In addition, you can press the "Honk" button in the chat window to summon them while your mates are busy and you wish to speak to them. If they still don't respond, you can spam this button to flood your honks on their notification screen. It's equivalent to what you would have seen back in the day on Yahoo Messenger.

No History for Chat

There is no chat history in Honk now as a result of the Live Typing functionality, as any message you type in a conversation gets deleted then and there. Thus, the messages are not stored in the app to be accessed later.

It's sort of close to the notifications in smartphones like WhatsApp or Snapchat that vanish. However, before vanishing from the conversations, such messages still linger for at least a couple of days.

Real-time answers and other fun characteristics

You can also respond to your friend's messages with massive emojis in real-time while in a chat. You can also click a photo to send in a chat right from the app or pick one from your gallery or Camera Roll.

In addition to the above features, the app has several other fun features, such as "Magic Words" that allows you to allocate a particular emoji to a trigger-word and configure chat theme options for individual chat windows.

So, if you are someone who wants to have an ongoing chat with your friend or a loved one instead of a long-drawn text conversation, you can check out Honk on its official website and download it from the App Store. For the moment, it is only available for iOS users. The developers are working fairly fast to release an Android version, however.
