We have seen businesses incorporate a lot of sensors, parts, and functionality to the wearable electronic system since wristwatches began becoming knowledgeable. A camera, however is one big part that producers have not been able to pack into a smartwatch. So now a small California-based company has come up with an ingenious Apple Watch band that packs two camera sensors to enable users to click with their smart wearable gadget on high-res videos.

Your Wrist Webcam

This one of a kind" band is, as per the brand, "the ultimate wearable camera made for the Apple Watch," called "Wristcam." It is simply an Apple Watch band that packs two camera sensors inside the accessory's compact contraption.

The band is designed for those times where you need a camera and all you have is your Apple Watch, according to Ari Roisman, the maker of the Apple-certified Wristcam. So you can click a photo or live-stream a video right from your Apple Watch with this special accessory, without any smartphone support.

"The phone isn't always within reach, and when you go out with friends, or go running, riding, or hiking with just an Apple Watch, it's nice to have a handy camera," says Roisman.

Camera Module Detachable

Now the unique thing about it is that you can quickly remove the module from the contraption that packs the cameras and the battery and fit it into another Wristcam band (sold separately).

Users will take the whole module out of the band and charge it with the supplied magnetic USB adapter with this detachable configuration. As per the company, Wristcam will operate on a single charge for a whole day with mild to heavy use.

The Cameras

One of the sensors is a "self-facing" 2MP camera and the other is a "world-facing" 8MP camera. So the 2MP camera helps you to shoot a selfie, which you can understand from the titles, while the 8MP one is for taking objects that are in front of you.

The 8MP world-facing camera is capable of shooting 1080p videos and clicking on 4K images, as per the company. It runs right on your Apple Watch with the aid of the Wristcam software that brings a live viewfinder, a slideshow, and various networking resources.

In addition, the firm added bright LEDs next to each of the cameras to discourage sneaky-sneakers from taking images of other individuals without their permission. As a result, these LEDs will light up if you take a video or click a photo with the Wristcam to let your subjects know you're filming them.

However, bear in mind that, relative to other Apple Watch bands, the band itself is pretty bulky. This is primarily because of the design to pack the module of the camera inside the dedicated contraption.

Price and Availability

The Wristcam is also water-resistant and comes in Green, Noir, Blanc, Rose, and Sage in five exclusive colours. It comes with a price tag of $299 that includes the camera module within the band (~Rs. 22,050). However, you can get one in return for $49 (~Rs. 3,614) if you want to get just a Wristcam band (without the camera module).

At present, the firm is taking pre-orders for the item and expects to launch the order in January 2021. So if you are looking to have one for your Apple Watch, you can visit the official website of Wristcam.
