Sony releases PlayStation 5 on February 2 in India
- Tech Backbone
Sony said on Friday that on February 2, it would introduce the PlayStation 5 in India, indicating upgrades to the supply chain network that has been seriously throttled by the pandemic of coronavirus.
The Japanese corporation said it would begin taking pre-order requests on January 12 for the new gaming console in India, the second largest internet market in the world. Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Games the Store, Sony Center, Vijay Sales and select other approved retail partners will have the console available for pre-order, the company said.
The announcement today should ease the worries of faithful PlayStation fans, some of whom in recent months have secured a premium unit from the grey market after India was not included in the first wave of PS 5 nations. Sony and its related partners have also been disappointed by viewers for not giving explanation or having inconsistent accounts in recent months.
