Are you curious when PUBG Mobile will return to India? It was after all, one of the most successful smartphone games before being banned almost three months ago. Yet in anticipation of getting the ban repealed, the firm divorced Tencent Games and reported a $100 million investment. Some India-centric gaming modifications for PUBG Mobile that will come with the relaunch were also addressed. That was over a month ago, however, and according to the latest report, the government has yet to give permission to PUBG Mobile to sell some tasty Chicken Dinner to enthusiastic users.

As per the article, an official response to an RTI (Right to Information) application inquiring about the return of PUBG Mobile to India was shared by the government. The official statement, as posted by Gem Esports in an Instagram post, states that "MeitY has not given any authorization to launch PUBG." The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in India is MeitY, for those unaware.

On November 30th, a few weeks after PUBG Mobile shared its India comeback strategy, the RTI application was filed. On 11 December 2020, which is over the weekend, the government responded back. This means the game hasn't been banned yet. Still, that doesn't mean it won't be down the lane, either. Until then, gamers are enthusiastically anticipating the homegrown alternative to the game, FAU-G, which will be released very soon.

We don't see the game coming back to India in the next couple of months, at least not before March 2021. "It is unfortunate, but everybody has to live with it the PUBG Mobile official revealed. Unfortunately, this means you're not going to be able to eat Chicken Dinner anytime soon. If the game makes an official appearance in India before the end of this year, it would be a sweet New Year's treat. The odds of that happening, though at the moment seem very slim.
