Redmi 9 Online Power Make Leaks, Indicating Quad Rear Cameras

Redmi 9 Power, as seen in an alleged rendering of the phone that leaked online, could get a quad rear camera. The new rendering emerged only after Xiaomi revealed the launch date of the Redmi 9 Power on December 17. It is expected that the smartphone will come as a rebranded version of the recently released Redmi Note 9 4G, but with minor changes. The Redmi 9 Power appeared on the Google Play Supported Devices page with the model number M2010J19SI prior to its formal launch, which is identical to the M2010J19SC model number associated with the Redmi Note 9 G that debuted last month in China.

The rendering of the Redmi 9 Power was leaked by 91mobiles by Tipster Ishan Agarwal. The surfaced rendering suggests that there is a quad rear camera configuration on the handset, which is unlike the Redmi Note 9 4G with triple rear cameras. But, as seen in the alleged rendering of the Redmi 9 Control, the rectangular-shaped camera bump design as well as the back panel texture are very similar to the Redmi Note 9 4G.

On the Redmi 9 Power, the exact megapixel count of the fourth camera sensor is yet to be released. Xiaomi, however, recently reported that, much like the Redmi Note 9 G, the latest Redmi phone would feature a 48-megapixel primary sensor.

Bringing rebranded phones with small updates over an existing model is not a new Xiaomi tactic. Most recently, we saw this in the case of the Indian version of the Redmi 9, which came as a rebadged Redmi 9C with dual rear cameras rather than keeping the latter's triple cameras. The rest of both the Redmi 9 and Redmi 9C specifications is similar.

The rebranding of the Redmi Note 9 G by listing the Redmi 9 Power with the model number M2010J19SI was indicated by the Google Play Enabled Devices page a few days ago. This is very similar to the Redmi Note 9 4G-associated M2010J19SC. Also, as per the Google page, both Redmi 9 Power and Redmi Note 9 4G bear the same codename 'lime'.

Specification of Redmi 9 specifications (expected)

It is rumoured that the Redmi 9 Power has two capacity versions, 64 GB and 128 GB, all of which come with 4 GB of RAM as standard. Other requirements are yet to be stated for the Redmi 9 Capacity. However if the Redmi 9 Power practically carries the same Redmi Note 9 4G hardware, with the exception of the rear camera configuration, a 6.53-inch full HD+ monitor with a waterdrop-style notch, Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera could be included. The new phone can also retain the recent Redmi Note-series model's 6,000mAh battery. In comparison, you should consider MIUI 12 to be on top of Android 10.
